Check this page in summer 2012. That's when golfers from Eaton Rapids and the surrounding area will be competing for the prestigious Glenn Buege Chevrolet Challenge Cup presented by the Eaton Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce.

Don't miss the opportunity to play in this Ryder Cup style tournament and to have your name added to the challenge cup.  The tournament is a match play, handicapped event, giving every golfer the ultimate experience of team competition.

During the day of competition you will have the opportunity to play against three different opponents, work out strategies with your teammates and enjoy a day of golf like you've never experienced.

Included in your entry fee this year you will receive a beautiful Adidas golf shirt in your teams colors.

Again this year the Eaton Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce and Glenn Buege Chevrolet have teamed up with the Mid-Michigan Autism Association to raise funds for Autism awareness.  Each participant will have the opportunity to raise pledges for this worthy cause.  Last year we were able to present the Mid-Michigan Autism Association a check for $2,000!  The ERACC is very proud of our community and everyone that participated in the pledge drive.

Get your application in early because entries are limited.  You can pick up an entry form at Glenn Buege Chevrolet or contact the Eaton Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce at (517)663-6480 or email at info@eatonrapidschamber.com.

Inaugural Challenge Cup Tournament Raises Autism Awareness!

Glenn Buege ChevroletAugust 3, 2010 – Kristan Buege, Vice President of the Mid-Michigan Autism Association passionately raised the awareness of Autism as she addressed over 100 attendees at the Inaugural Glenn Buege Chevrolet Challenge Cup Golf Tournament presented by the Eaton Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce at Duck Lake Country Club

The golfers that played in the Inaugural Challenge Cup Tournament will remember this event for a longtime!  The tournament was a match play, Ryder Cup style competition featuring seven teams consisting of twelve players on each team.  Each  competitor was playing to have their name and team engraved on the Challenge Cup.  This large trophy cup will be displayed for the entire year at Glenn Buege Chevrolet in Eaton Rapids.

The day was filled with new and exciting experiences!  As the sun rose in the morning sky all 84 golfers in the field were seated in formation at the opening ceremony all dressed in team colors.  Moments later the sound of bag pipes filled the air as a bagpiper in full dress, walked over the hill.    Golfers were heard saying “I feel like I'm in Scotland!”  As the bag piper paraded over the lush green landscape of Duck Lake Country Club, past the white picket fence and tents everyone started getting prepared for competition.  By early afternoon the team dressed in brilliant purple shirts came in as the first winners of the Challenge Cup.

The ERACC is very proud of everyone that participated in the pledge drive and thanks everyone for their generosity during the event!  The chamber would like to also thank all the sponsors that made this new experience possible.

Golfers are already making plans for next August when the Eaton Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce presents the second Glenn Buege Chevrolet Challenge Cup Tournament at Duck Lake Country Club.
