The Eaton Rapids Public School District serves approximately 3,000 students. There are two elementary schools, Lockwood and Northwestern, serving pre-K-1 with Montessori, and 2-3 respectively, Greyhound Intermediate serving grades 4, 5, and 6, a Middle school serving grades 7-8, a High School with grades 9-12 and an Alternative High School housed at Greyhound Central.

Island City Academy is a public charter school located a few miles south of the city of Eaton Rapids on Clinton Road. It has a student population of approximately 180, with grades K-8.
